Blueberry Season in Full Swing! Get Them While They’re Still Here!

Hey Georgia Blueberry Fans,

Sorry we haven’t updated our blog much. We were supposed to do it beginning in May, but we didn’t realize how busy our summer would get! In fact, we can confidently state that this season of baking and picking is busier than any other season we have had before! After we lost most of our berries to a frost in winter of last year, we have been gearing up for our most exciting season yet, and this one certainly lives up to the hype. Our bushes are more fruitful and ripe with juicy blueberries than we ever could have anticipated. We are having to invite all of our dear friends and family here at the farm to pick all hours of the day to keep up with how good our plants are doing. So, it our pleasure to invite you to buy as many berries as you can! We are open every single day from 8 AM to 8 PM on the main farm. You can check the refrigerator out front or reserve as many quarts as you want (check out the “Reserve” section for contact information) ahead of time! We could not tell you a day that has gone by when we haven’t been loading up all our fridges with pans and pans of berries. But don’t take that to mean we have an overabundance of supply… these quarts sell about as fast as they are filled, so even waiting a few weeks could make all the difference in the amount you will get. Additionally, we are beginning to bring berries to the Covington Farmers Markets in City Park (information on home page AND in “Reserve” section). You can check those out to see if they haven’t sold out yet, but they tend to do so before noon.

You are also encouraged to reserve a head of time to buy our breads or come to our farmers markets for those. Remember, bread season goes all the way until August, so if you can’t grab berries, then why not stuff your face with some sourdough, cinnamon raisin walnut, focaccia, or scones?
